Site readiness for resin-bound installation
What needs to be in place before the installation team arrives — and who is responsible for it.
Who does what
Where works are by others, the principal contractor is responsible for their suitability. The installation team does not accept responsibility for defects caused by the substrate, formation, drainage, falls, levels or edge restraints provided by others. Scope is always as stated on the confirmed quotation.

Substrate, formation and structural base
The substrate must be complete, clean, dry, sound, suitably porous for a permeable system and constructed to the specification for the intended loading. Surface Install Co. does not install over an unsuitable or incomplete substrate.
Drainage, falls and levels
Falls, levels and drainage must be finished before installation. Resin-bound surfacing follows the profile beneath it; it does not correct levels or ponding.
Edge restraints
Permanent edges must be installed, set to finished level and fully cured or fixed before the team arrives.
Mixer position, material storage and access
- A level mixer position close to the working area
- Dry, secure material storage
- Vehicle access for delivery and equipment
- A clear working area
- The distance from mixer to installation, declared in the builder
- Obstructions removed or identified in advance
Cleanliness and weather
The area must be clean and free of dust, debris and standing water. Installation depends on dry weather and suitable temperatures; the programme may be rescheduled when conditions are unsuitable.
